Skiing is dangerous

I met up with my friend, Matt, tonight for a tapas dinner and a catch up. We were suppose to met up several weeks ago but Matt had to postpone due to an injury he got on his holiday ... He had a pretty spectacular fall while skiing and broke his shoulder! Eek! I felt very bad for him as he was obviously still in pain, but I could help giggling at his hand popping out from his shirt. Does that make me a bad friend?

Sorry to hear about Matt's skiing accident :-( The hand popping out of his shirt is a funny sight. Perhaps the smile on Matt's face shows that you provided a distraction from the pain he is in.

Never heard of a tapas dinner, so did a Google search which was interesting. Were you aware the word “tapas” is derived from the Spanish verb tapar, “to cover”. According to The Joy of Cooking, the original tapas were the slices of bread or meat which sherry drinkers in Andalusian taverns used to cover their glasses between sips. This was a practical measure meant to prevent fruit flies from hovering over the sweet sherry.
