Where have you been Karen?

You might have noticed that my blogs have been few and far between lately. My days are too short and too busy at the moment. The brief synopsis is that this time of year is extremely busy for me at work. It's the time of year I'm doing the school's timetable / schedule for the next academic year. Take a look at my blog from this time last year - my whole life centres around the timetable for a good month or two. Last year I had a timescale of 2 and 1/2 months to get this done. This year I have barely a month. If I were to only work M-F 9-5 it would take a good 3 months to get the timetable done. I have a month to do it all. It's a nightmare!!!! That's problem number one.

On top of problem number one is problem number two: a colleague of mine (who had a very busy day to day job here) has left. Part of her job was given to me. This "part" of her job takes up 95% of my time. Another 10% of my time is sorting out questions / problems arising from her leaving - just cause no one knows what to do now. This woman did a lot of stuff!!!

To add to my woes, a good 20% of my time is used up sorting out problems and questions about the system I look after. This is part of my normal job and I expect it. Some problems and questions are easier than others, but the combination of them is very time consuming.

If you're not good at maths - that's over 100% of my time. Did you also notice I didn't mention any amount of time being spent on the timetable for next year that I have less than a month to complete? No? That's because I don't have time to work on it. Not only is it SO far behind schedule, but I have no time to work on it!!! I'm working 12 hour days at work and then taking work home. It's seriously ridiculous. I'm close to the end of my tether and feel myself reaching breaking point. I don't have enough stamina to keep this up much longer!

Needless to say, everything in my social life suffers. My blog is one of the many things that has been effected by my ridiculous work life. Anyone know what a good work / life balance is? I sure don't have one!

The illustrations you used were very appropriate for your text. You're such a good blog poster! I have emailed you unsuccessfully several times this week, check your kaz address.

Did I tell you I found a four leaf clover Sunday morning while walking with William? :)

You know I love you and am praying
you'll find enough stamina to meet the challenges you are facing and solutions to your problems. This is an exhausting time of year for those in the education field.

Let me know if you'd like me to quote some Psalms for encouragement.

Hang in there sweetheart!

I agree with Jean...your illustratons are very expressive. I love them!! I will be praying that you are able to pack everything into a 24 hr day... otherwise, I might have to pray that you get extra hrs in the day to complete your tasks. And then you'd be even more exhausted. We don't want that. Seriously, you hang in there and hopefully someone will come along that can help you with your extra work!
Love you, YaYa/Sherry
