Catching up with friends

I've been very poor with staying in touch with my friends over the past few months ... Settling into a new job am new routine etc.

Over the last few weeks I've been able to meet up with a few friends and it's been very good to catch up with them!

Saturday afternoon I met Tesca (above) for lunch. Tesca is a very good friend that I met at my last work place. Such a good friend that we use to call each other at midnight just for a chat!

This evening I met up with Hayley (sorry, no picture, I'm slipping). I've known Hayley for about 5 years, we used to work together in the midlands and move to London within a few month of each other. Because of illnesses in December & Janurary an our schedules, this evening was the first time in at least 4 months that we've gotten together! Very rubbish!!!! We had a lot to catch up with and it was a very girly, fun catch up. Hayley keeps my head on my shoulders and I love her to bits! We've made a pact not to leave it so long till we meet up again. We're aiming for the 2nd week in May, I'll keep you posted if we keep to it :-)

A little snip-bit about Christmas

I ran across this picture today and it reminded me I haven't blogged about Christmas - I'm SO bad. So bad in fact, that my Christmas decorations are still out in my spare room waiting to be boxed up and put away **grimace** Ah well. Life takes priority over cleaning! :-)

I'll have to blog about Christmas later, in brief... James ventured into to meet "the family" this Christmas ... and survived! :-) We were blessed with a white Christmas (the first one I've had since I was like 6!), we had a very good (and chaotic) time with my family.

My parents and I at the airport leaving to come home. (Necklace, which I'm also wearing today, was a Christmas present from my mother. I very much like it!!!)

Love you family - and miss you!!!

James impersonates Madi

Most of you know (or know of) my niece, Madi. What you might not know is that Madi's mom (my sister) is obsessed with hair bows. (I like to play "take Madi's bow off and hide it from my sister" or "hide the bag of bows so my sister can't put any bows on my niece" game when I'm around.)

Evidence ...

from birth my niece has been in bows (I think this is aged 3 months)

...this was taken last month

James decided to do a bit of Madi impersonating on Saturday :-)

Pizza tonight

I met James in the city tonight for dinner and a movie ... I love date nights! It was 9 by the time we got to the restaurant and I was hungry enough to eat James's arm! Luckily the pizza was fast in coming out and the growling animal in my stomach was suppressed. The pizzas came with a pizza cutter which I had fun with! Novelty items never cease to amuse me :-)

My meager attempt at an update

If I tried to find the time to sit down and explain what's been happening since my last update, I wouldn't get around to it for ages! So I decided to upload a couple of pictures I had on my phone. (I'm blogging while on a bus headed into the city!)

Things are going well. The new job is great, I get praised regularly and I enjoy it. It's busy, very busy but I'm used to that. James and I have been dating a little over a year now and he still spoils me daily. I'm still struggling a bit to balance my work and social life (too much work) but life is good. I'll TRY and get some more posted soon.

Oh yeah... James met my parents and sister, her husband, my niece and cousin at Christmas ... As crazy as the trip was he seemed to enjoy it and liked my family. We're off to visit my grandfather in April!

Snowed in

A few weeks ago James and I took a trip to the midlands to visit John and Patty, it was John's birthday that week. We travelled up Saturday and had a good day (I had my usual hair cut on the visit) and enjoyed a dinner out with John and Patty. Our Sunday plans were turned upside down when we awoke to several inches of snow on the ground! A beautiful sight ... except when you have a 3 hour drive to do to get home! We ended up making a packed lunch and heading off around 10:30 from John and Patty's house. We went to church and headed home. By the time church was finished, roads were much better, but what an adventure!!

Pancake Day

Shrove Tuesday, aka pancake day, was a few weeks back. Louise and Sophie came by my flat and we had fun making all sorts of pancakes: chocolate ones, plain ones, sugar and lemon ones, cheese and tomato .. Yummy! A fun night with the gals!!

Roxy gets a make over

After several months of neglect, Roxy got a thorough valet by James and his family.

2 Sundays ago James and I went to his parents house for Mothering Sunday (English Mother's Day) to spend time with his mother. I ended up driving Roxy got quite the treat! She still sparkles (bar the spot on the roof that a bird decided to decorate).

Thanks for the great job guys!!
